Ms. Hammer brings twenty-five years of strategic
planning, marketing and business development experience
to clients in the healthcare industry who want to
identify and evaluate strategic options, manage
utilization of services, and enhance profitability.
With strong planning abilities, research skills, and
knowledge of the healthcare industry, Ms. Hammer has
successfully assisted clients in network alliance
formation, product and program design, development and
implementation, and managed care strategy development.
Ms. Hammer is skilled at complex project management and
has proven acumen in facilitating physician, Board and
management relations.
Prior to joining The Katz Consulting Group, Inc. in
1991, Ms. Hammer was the Vice President for Planning and
Marketing for Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA.
There, Ms. Hammer was responsible for all planning,
marketing and public relations activities for a 616-bed
academic medical center hospital, medical school,
graduate school, and undergraduate school of health
sciences.

Ms. Hammer's specific technical skills are in business
strategy development, product development and
marketplace positioning, and facilitating organizational
change to accomplish identified strategic goals.
Background
Ms. Hammer holds a Master of Public Health degree, with
a concentration in Planning and Strategy Development
from the University of California, Berkeley. Her
undergraduate work in Political Science was completed at
the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to
joining the management team at Hahnemann University, Ms.
Hammer was a Manager in the Healthcare Management
Consulting Division of Laventhol & Horwath. She
previously was a strategic planner at Mercy Catholic
Medical Center, Philadelphia and was an Assistant to the
Director of Public Health of the City and County of San
Francisco, California.
Ms. Hammer is past President of the Maryland Association
for Healthcare Planning and Marketing, Inc. and is an
active member of the American College of Healthcare
Executives.
